Site: Soccer Field
Location: Manchester , NH
Time: Mid-OctoberThe Project: This was a time sensitive project. It needed to be completed before winter frost. Work would begin when the soccer season had ended in mid October. We had all the necessary equipment and resources to insure that the project would be completed timely to insure the new sod would be fully established to carry itself through the winter.
The project involved, roto tilling the existing vegetation. Amending the soil profile to insure proper nutrients and soil pH for strong root growth. To accommodate the new irrigation system we dug the appropriate trenches. We laid the rough irrigation pipes and then connected to the zone valves and new sprinklers heads. We diligently back filled and compacted to be absolutely sure no settling would occur.
What Major Problems: We encountered a problem due to the lack of documentation on the location of the existing water main. It required HAND DIGGING to locate the 8" line. Equipment digging would damage the system. After the underground main had be flagged and located all heavy equipment could access the field for site preparation.
Another unexpected delay, while digging we encountered large boulders buried on site. These created major set backs on this time sensitive project. Then the unthinkable happened; a major rain fall. A water soaked environment can quickly turn the construction site into a bowl of soup and run-off can negatively effect the project. We were delayed even further by this uncontrollable turn of events.
Final Results: Through diligence and hard work, long hours and working weekends this project was completed in sufficient time for the turf to get fully established. Our road grader re-graded the entire field to meet the proper drainage specifications. We then laid over sixty thousand square feet of sod.
The clients were thrilled and enjoyed their beautiful new field. They were completely satisfied with the results of engaging Jenning's to complete this project.
